FotoFlexer, the world’s most advanced Web-based image editing solution, today announced it has been awarded the 2008 Application and Design Usability Award from the Nielsen Norman Group, the world-renowned experts in Web and application usability. FotoFlexer was the only online image editing solution selected for this award, which is given to only 10 applications — including both Web-based and desktop applications — each year. As a result, Nielsen Norman dedicates 28 pages of its upcoming ‘Application Design Annual 2008: The Year’s 10 Best Application UIs’ report to an in-depth review of FotoFlexer’s superior usability features.

‘We selected FotoFlexer because it has created an online application which adds to the user experience by interacting well with other online services, giving users an easy-to-use alternative to desktop-based editing applications,’ said usability expert Dr. Jakob Nielsen, principal of Norman Nielsen Group. ‘The company calls itself ‘the world’s most advanced online digital photo editor’, and after our evaluation, we believe it’s a pretty credible claim.’

The Norman Nielsen Group is co-founded by Don Norman, the noted usability researcher and author of books such as The Design of Everyday Things.  Newsweek describes Dr. Norman as, “The guru of workable technology.”

This means that the full collective power of Photobucket and FotoFlexer will now be available to users both on and off Photobucket.com. It’s a pairing that just makes sense for users of both sites. Each and every photo can be accessed and edited anytime, anyplace, on any internet-connected device!

So it’s often said that FotoFlexer is the world’s most advanced online image editor. That’s true, six patents pending and more on the way. However, FotoFlexer people also like to have FUN. So we thought it’d be nice to start a series of blog postings that highlight some of the more fun and interesting FotoFlexer features. Many, many, people say they really enjoy using the real-time web-cam functions. Here’s an example:

FotoFlexer’s web cam integration feature is located in the “Geek” tab.
